ifixit's mobile input box is buggy

On Fennec F-Droid v.124.2.0 running on a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra on Android 13. I am stumbling across a bug when writing an answer to the ifixit forums where it gets rid of the New Line symbol and any markdown modifications which result in a horrible experience, and keeps making spaces breaking the experience and making it a pain to work with, i will attach a video once i can reproduce this on camera. EDIT: Reproduced, here you go (notice how its doing things i am not telling it to do?)

@damaj301damaj I've read through your report and correspondence with @krisrodriguez. Would you mind providing me with a few more details so we can hopefully reproduce these issues? Thank you in advance.

Markdown removal

I'm having trouble seeing what markdown you have in the text box that is subsequently removed in the screen recordings. Can you give me the text along with a list of the markdown elements that are removed?

I do see that when you paste in text with leading whitespace, it removes the leading whitespace (video 1).

Addition of space when entering

I'm also not able to reproduce this. Are you doing anything special in advance? Can you give me the exact steps and text you have in the editor causing this to happen? I've tried reproducing this following your video, but it's possible I'm missing a setup step.

Line break vs simple line break

I believe this is already resolved, but I'll put it in writing here. We render simple line breaks within the editor with that newline symbol. Only simple line breaks are rendered this way. I messed around a little on mobile FF, and I was able to add simple line breaks to the editor by specifically shifting and then hitting enter. It's possible this is what happened to you.

I wonder if the Fennec UI is different enough from vanilla Firefox to cause these issues. Are you able to reproduce on Firefox?

Thanks again,

Erin

@erinm Thanks for your reply. The markdown that i had was simple, 2 words were in italic and 1 word was in bold, i have uploaded a pic of the text [image|97434]. Talking about the white space issue its happening in real time, even tho i haven't used any markdown or anything, its weird, i will see if i can reproduce on Firefox. [video|41] (content did not embed, weird)
