Suggestion for Parts diagrams

First time user. In the parts diagrams, the part numbers are covered up by unnecessary dots. The purpose is to look at the diagram to identify the part number. So maybe don't cover up the part numbers.

Statistics bug? in Answers

Hi @krisrodriguez

Might be a bug or it might be me misreading it but looking at the statistics for a question asked on Answers the statistics show more total views (if that's what they are) for the Past 7 days, Past 30 days and All time than for the Past 24 hours and the question was only posted <24hrs previously.

As an example below is a composite image taken from this question that I answered today.

As can be seen (at the time I made the image) the question was first posted 7 hours ago, I answered 6 hours ago and the statistics show 10 for the past 24 hours which is possible but then show 22 for the rest.

Shouldn't they all be 10 given the question at the time was only posted within the last 24 hours?

The problem isn't isolated to this question, it appears to be happening on every question although it's easier to discern when a new question has been posted rather than questions that are >24 hours old

Sourcing the power button for a Pixel 8 Pro

As the subject says, I'm trying to find the power button for a Pixel 8 Pro. This is just the external plastic piece, not any internal workings. In other words, the phone still turns on/off, I just have to use like a pen or something to do it.

When I first lost it, I was only able to find some random site that claimed to sell it, but I wasn't able to check its legitimacy. The one repair place I talked to didn't have just that one part, so don't know if it's worth checking with other repair shops around here.

IFixit Pro Tech Toolkit Rusty bits

I have purchased my Pro Tech Toolkit quite a while ago and its been one of the best purchases I have made. Recently when opening it up tho, I noticed that a lot of my bits are very rusty. I have never really noticed it before, but I feel like it might start affecting usage for some of the smaller bits.

Has anyone experienced this too? Is there a good solution for this?

I dont feel like I have abused the bits nor do I store them in a special environment. Its just my room next to my tech workbench. Not very moist, not very dry. Normal Austrian room.

Interestingly lots of other stuff in here isnt rusting either, so I am quite confused on how the bits managed to get so bad.

Downgrade repairability score if OEMs/Suppliers refuse to sell parts

There should be a system in place where if the phone is still usable(like 5 years or so), the repairability score is dynamic and the phone actually loses points if parts are not accessible at all during a reasonable time period.

Case study: the HMD Skyline

Advertised as a Repair-It-Yourself phone, it made the headlines, and it made it in my hands in July 2025. The repair score made it encouraging.

Now? Battery swollen, can't find any replacement parts ever and I had to dig 10 pages of Aliexpress to find a supplier that still sells them even tho it's still quite recent.

Many people have reported such issues and yet, the 9/10 score still stands.

What's the point of an easy to repair phone if you can't truly repair it yourself after a certain small time period(1 year for the Skyline for example).

In my opinion, it degrades the value of the score and tends to make it seem useless. Why does an older 4/10 repairable phone still stand a chance at repairs but a newer 9/10 can't?

I ordered a fix set for my pixel watch, got it delivered, installed it, very nice.

But two weeks later i get an additional bill of 35$ from UPS. They say it's a fix fee for border processing. It's completely disproportionate because the set only cost 100$ and the border tax is only 6$ and shipping was supposed to be free.

If it's a fixed fee you're obligated to inform me about the fee in advance, but it's nowhere to be found on the bill i have from you.
