Leftover Phone Battery replacement Kit.

I have a complete phone battery replacement kit (replacement battery intact) from a phone (Android Turbo 2 I believe) that unfortunately was ruined before I had the chance to replace the battery. I am unsure what to do with the battery+tools. In support of this website's philosophy I would be willing pay to return the it in hopes that some part of the kit is still useful to someone, but I am also unsure if it would be wanted given that I ordered this kit in ~2020.

Other suggestions on how to deal with the battery are also welcome since it is completely unused. Thank you!

New year same question WHY is the ifixit 3 pack spudger packs STILL not available in Canada on the ifixit online store? The only distributor in Canada charges an exorbitant amount of money I assume because of the import costs from the States plus you have to order in bulk to cover shipping. The cost ends up being more than what the product is actually worth. I have to resort to buying a knock off lower quality product from elsewhere.

In trying to contact support for an issue with an order which never arrived (replacement tool bits) I'm told that since it's after 30 days there will be no assistance. Is that a hard stop or are there alternative paths to explore? Seems awfully convenient to pluck a random number of days beyond which a company won't support an order which has been paid for/profited from and not delivered. Not a company I'll ever recommend supporting in the future that's for sure.

Holiday “Light Show” repair video(s) requested

Will iFixit ever offer a tear down or repair video(s) of “light show” style of holiday lighting? For years I’ve used them as Xmas lights, and been aggravated when they quit working, usually only partially by sections, and I cannot find videos that help me track down and fix the problems. Both incandescent and LED sets ultimately have issues. Both netlight and straight strings go belly up; netlights can be worse until you track and separate their usually two lines.

But my expensive straight, 12-lamp C9 LEDs are especially frustrating, due to their complex of changing patterns that variably go awry. I end up replacing entire strings to just quickly keep the show impact on the house consistent and pleasing. Now I’ve accumulated 12 or 15 faulty strings. The manufacturer once sent 24 new sets as their answer to our complaints, which was great and appreciated, but I’m now running low on even those.

I think they work by the control module cyclically changing the patterns via current modulation. The lamp color changes by how much current passes through it. Plugged in end to end, each 12 lamp set follows the same cycling from its module, so all 24-25 sets on the house, ridgeline and fascias, work exactly together, in both pattern and color. At least until one doesn’t, either staying partially or completely white or flickering, or rarely entirely dead.

One year the company sent a pack of LEDs, as they are peculiar to their products, and can’t be replaced by any other version. Once or twice in the past I managed to switch lamps around in a set, and luckily get a useable combination that worked, but only after hours of effort, mostly hit and miss.

I believe the more common problem is in the control modules, perhaps rain water intrusion, or just worn out circuit board components. Before I crack modules open for inspection, it sure would be great to have a guidance video for repairing the boards. Please consider such an endeavor as I can’t be alone with this very consterning situation. And at 77, with my own physical mobility issues, I can’t risk, anymore, constantly mounting and climbing around the roof trying to correct/replace faulty sets. My grandson puts them up and takes them down annually, but living 800 miles away, he isn't available for the interim weeks.

My particular “light show” sets are by Toyo Electric, I believe distributed by Roundtripping, Ltd, and “TY-16F” is on the control modules.

The guide I'm working on is MIA from the device page

I had to replace an iPhone 11 Pro Max Lightning connector assembly anyway, so I bit the bullet and decided to do a guide for it.

There was already an existing guide that consisted of nothing more than a link to a YouTube video, so I started with that. I'm about 95% done with it, when I noticed something curious. The guide I'm working on no longer appears on the device page for the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I can still access it by going to my activity page, but I have no idea how to get it to show back up on the device page. Everything I do with regard to editing it works fine, though, and the title at the top shows the proper link to the device page, so it thinks it's in the right place.

But even going to the device page directly from the guide page, that guide is just not there. @krisrodriguez, can you get someone to look at this?

Here's the device page where the MIA guide should be.

iPhone 11 Pro Max Repair Help: Learn How to Fix It Yourself.

And here's the link to the guide I'm working on.
