Feedback request - diagnosing and erasing SSDs

https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Diagnosing+...

As it stands, I patched the HDD guide to deal with SSDs for some time - but that was because I had to find time to make this happen. It was always "broken" and insufficient. That said, I have fixed it by making a dedicated SSD guide. I will still leave my SSD footnotes in as CYA in case someone uses it instead for a SATA SSD, but for the sake of being able to do it right for NVMe, I decided to break them up into two guides.

Anything I missed?

No response to RMA

It's been a week since I submitted an RMA request. I'm now outside the "30 days" and I haven't heard anything.

If it sometimes takes a week or two for them to respond, that's fine. But the chat bot and site docs say RMAs should be responded within a few days. I'm worried maybe my original RMA didn't go through (I don't remember getting a confirmation and there's nothing in my email).

So I guess I have a few questions: should I have an email at least confirming I sent in the RMA? Is there a way I can tell if it was even sent? And secondly: how long should I wait before trying to contact support again? The automated system won't let me submit an RMA for something that was delivered over 30 days ago. What would be the best way to reach out?

Part-Only Battery Does Not Come with Display Adhesive?

I'm needing to replace the batter on my iPhone 7 Plus. I have all the tools to do the replacement. I just need the battery part, and a new display adhesive to restore the water resistance when I put the display back on.

Can I confirm that the part-only battery does not include the display adhesive?

It seems that the full kit is the same cost as the battery + display adhesive. I get a bunch of tools I don't need on top of that.

Designing the future of repair

Hi everyone,

I am currently an industrial design student currently working on a project that deals with low torque assembly (screwdrivers and systems around it). while researching this topic the discussion on right to repair sparked an keen interest. So I am reaching out to you guys, the repair community on what the most ideal repair station might look like? What are the tools that you think would make it easier for everyone to repair? Are their any problems/ design opportunities that you see that needs some help fixing?
If you had a magic tool that could solve your problems? what kind of features would you like.

Thank you in advance for supporting the future of right to repair!

Liquid damage guide needs to be rolled back

Someone did some funky updates to the iPhone liquid damage guide that need to be rolled back, but apparently my particular mod powers don't include that ability. Here's the version it needs to be restored to.

iPhone Liquid Damage Repair - iFixit Repair Guide

I could just re-edit it back to the original form, but a rollback would seem to make more sense.

For some unknown reason, somebody decided this should be a Samsung guide rather than an iPhone guide, and someone else approved it (who shouldn't have).

Why is the ThinkPad X1 Extreme (Gen 1) Unboxing listed as a device?

Based on the teardown video posted here, I think this should be combined into the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 1 device page: https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Lenovo_Thi...

There doesn't seem to be a legitimate reason why an "unboxing" of a device needs its own device page. I think the teardown video here should be added as a community contributed teardown to the already existing device page for the X1 Extreme Gen 1 (which already has a lot of existing guides): https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Lenovo_Thi...
