Central Coast Brewing, just down the road, tends to get a lot of iFixit traffic. They have a rotating list, and don't always have anything very dark (California loves its IPAs). Downtown you'll have better luck, Spikes is a popular iFixit watering hole. Libertine has a very SLO atmosphere with great food and drink. And just up the road from you, Apple Farm is a really nice dinner spot.
As to how to get to your hotel, you can snag a taxi, or maybe tap one of us for a "shuttle service", teardowns permitting ;)
