Title:

iPhone 7 home button issues (My three assumptions)

Text:

Hi Folks,

I did a iPhone 7 screen repair yesterday in London. Although I had done and completed, successfully, hundreds of jobs of iPhone 7 & 7 Plus screens replacement. Yesterday, when I replaced the new screen, everything was working except home button. I tried my best to make it work by changing my another new screen but it did not work. Even I tried to replace broken original screen but did not work.

This issue of the home button is increasing nowadays with other iTech as well as per comments on this forum. Unfortunately, root cause, nobody could diagnose. Many people have different opinions. This issue is increasing but no one has final verdict. I have written my Screen vendors in China about this issue but they said their screens are perfect and AAA quality and never receive home button issues. Many people think that it is because of complications of new iOS 11 with non-original Apple screens.

I have few thoughs about it:

First, Apple itself, is trying to stop 3rd parties to replace screens. And when Apple online networks/sensors detect any non-genuine or 3rd party activity on the phone, they make home button disable.

Possible solution can be if we switch to aeroplane mode before turn off for replacing screen?

Secondly, my assumpution is that new iOS 11 has some intelligent code to detect any non-Apple store activity or screen detection.

I dont think so it will have any solution for 3rd party technician.

3rd assumpution is that iTech always break sensitive home button cable while taking off from the original screen.

It looks funny to admit it because I have done 100 of iPhone 7 screen repairs and now this time am I damaging home button cable everytime???

Currently, I have stopped myself to replace iPhone 7/7 Plus screens until I could find real reason or solution.

Can anyone help or share any resource please?

Thanks
