Amazingly enough, Eggs knows all about the "gassing and spitting of the flux" as evidenced here https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/754246/Why+is+my+solder+turning+into+a+ball#answer754332 but then 3 days later, does not know how to remove a soldering iron tip.
