Need advice to remove EFI password

Hello,

I bought a logic board as a 2nd hand, for an Apple Macbook pro early 2011, through iFixit but this one is efi protected. I am desperately looking how to get rid of the efi password to be able to use my logic board. In fact iFixit sold me me a useless logic board.

I was able to install the board, macos sierra but once connected to iCloud to configure my iCloud accounts, the computer shuted down, rebboted and asked me a password to use my own computer. I suppose the serial number of this logic board registered at iCloud but this should mean the board was previously owned by someone who didn't unregistered it before selling it to iFixit, as with a result I ´m stuck with an unsusable computer.

Any idea, solution to help me to fix this?

Thank a bunch in advance.

It sounds like the board came out of a stolen machine or was locked because someone thought the machine was lost. If it had an EFI password, it would ask for the password as soon as it boots up every time.

The board is FUBAR. Boards like this rarely end up on the market, but it's known to happen occasionally.

Thanks for helping.

I won't say the logic board has been stolen as I bought it on iFixit .... I just hope there is a way to remove .... cancel ... erase this password maybe through Apple, I have no clue, just hope.
