Does the OP get notified

When posting a comment for an OP in my original answer will the OP get notified if I don't have a @whoevers link to get them to be seen or do I need to post the comment in the comments of the question . Some people dont have a @ link to post to

@jimfixer I believe the OP get's notified by email. Something like we all receive from ifixit with the subject "New posts on topics you are following"

Besides Emails, you get notified if there's a comment under your question, but not if it's under someone else's answer.
