Hi Dan! We've fallen behind on MacBooks! They're on the list, but they'll be after iPhones, so "soon" is a little relative! I wish I could hand 'em off but I don't have anything for you yet, unfortunately!

@sam - Get ready for the iMac Pro! Its release is expected Dec 12th.

I've been seeing the 18th, which is a little too close to the Christmas holidays for my comfort... The 12th suits me better!!

@sam - Some of the guides we need to create is how to pop off the keycaps and put them back on. With the function key model how to replace the uppercase. I don't think you can replace the uppercase on the touch bar model as the sensor is part of the case unless you can swap it over. Logic board swap out, Display swap out & battery across both. That leaves the SSD with the function key model as the last item I can think of.

@danj We took a stab at writing a keycap removal guide for the newer low-profile MacBook keyboards with the plastic "butterfly" mechanism, but abandoned it because there didn't seem to be any consistent method for removing the keys without breaking something. Sometimes it works fine, and sometimes you just get busted keys. If you happen to know a method that's a little more foolproof, I think we'd be happy to write it up! But so far every guide/tutorial I've seen for this has complaints from folks who ended up with more problems than they started with. It's further complicated by the fact that there are at least three or four different types of keys—the mechanism (and therefore the procedure) is completely different for the function keys, vs. the letter keys, vs. the spacebar, etc. Some of them are also very difficult to reinstall even if you manage to get them out cleanly. Overall it's just a total bummer of a design from a repair standpoint. I agree having a decent guide for this would be a big win.

@jeffsu - Hi Jeff!

Yes, Apple does make it hard between all of the different versions. As it turns out Jon Ridley from The Bookyard in the UK is a contributor here. I'm sure he could offer some help as they are one of the sources I have used to get replacement key caps. As long as we respect his turf I don't think there is a conflict.
