SOLVED: Is it ok to submit an answer to a really old post?

Is it ok to submit an answer to a really old post?

whenever I answer a post from something like 2015 I think that I should not be doing that because

a) they may have moved on

b) I got talked to by a moderator of another website (not ifixit) for commenting on a really old post.

also what do you think of people commenting or answering posts that already have like 30 answers?

This is just one of those things that bugs me I feel like I should not be doing that [first one]

@captainsnowball my way of thinking is that if it is unanswered, go for it. It may just help someone else. I believe it to be absolutely okay to answer an old question.

If you see a question that has already a multitude of answers ask yourself if your answer will make a substantial difference. If you find that there are a lot of "me too" answers, marks those as Remove as duplicate or off topic. That way we can check on that and possibly thin the answers out.

Your efforts are being noticed and continue your good job!
