I have a friend who won't let go of a 1st gen iPhone because it can still be used as a TV remote. It was the only model with an IR blaster.
That should been kept in the iPhone series. useful. but also you mean your friend is using an iPhone 1 just because of that? It may be time for an upgrade.
Yeah, he likes it as a remote. Remember 1st gen iPhones were only 2G. You cannot use it on AT&T any more since all 2g towers were shut down.
