When will you offer stock for sale on the market?

I just discovered this company, and I'm highly impressed! I work in the computer industry as a technology transfer Engineer, and I love fixing my own cars, phones, stereos, computers, just about all of it. In fact, I won't allow anyone to monkey with my stuff until I either fix it, or FUBAR it and scream for help. What a concept you have here.

I am interested in knowing if you plan on going public, or if you have stock already for sale? I could not find it on the exchange. I believe you are only scratching the horizon!

Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I would like to know the same thing. I find amusement in simply watching stocks. You don't need any financial expert to know iFixit is a sound investment.

I don't see it happening. Kyle and company are all very driven with their mission.

Sounds like a great company with no plans for growth or increasing profits. And that’s OK! I was just curious but I can see all the passion with keeping it small and personal. Thanks for the replies. Got my kit today and will test it out.

To the best of my knowledge (worked there for 2 years very recently), there is no plan to go public whatsoever. iFixit's values are as follows: People, Planet, Profit (in that order). I'd dare to speculate that going public would put profits too much at the forefront, even if profitability is a sure bet. If anyone hears otherwise, please also let me know.

Well, the people want the profit. Heck, I'd buy a few shares if I had the money.

@pccheese I am perfectly okay with @kyle keeping it the way it is. Profit would come with a big price to anyone. Could you imagine making people pay for answers to their question etc.? Answers would be like a pay-for -service and it would become just another job. I'd be out in a heartbeat. I support and enjoy ifixit just the way it is. Only thing we should be mindful off is that if we refer people to purchase parts, tools etc. to give ifixit the courtesy of recommending first. Increased traffic and interest to the site can increase the margin of the business aspect which in turn will allow @kyle to keep a place for us (Answers) in the organization.

@oldturkey03 I guess I don't know enough about the stock market. I thought it would be nice to own a few shares of iFixit, that's all. But I guess if it costs iFixit or its contributors , forget it.

I've worked for a company before and after IPO. The culture and the way employees are treated from the same company is completely different. You actually may not like iFixit as a publicly traded company. Too many hands in the cookie jar, and a lot of forced finger pointing for not "meeting <unrealistic> expectations".
