About Accepting answer in old questions

I know @mayer and @oldturkey03 have a good intent but this is annoying:

Block Image

any chance the site could be changed so that accepting as answer does not pull questions up from the bottom of the pile? Because then recent questions get pushed back to the second or even third page.

Answered! View the answer I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@captainsnowball the live of a moderator:-) Just can't please everybody LOL. This is more than just a good intent. We have seen this before. That is why those of us that moderate heavily, decided the best time to do so would be early in the morning so as to not congest Answers. There are a few options for you. Use the "Unanswered" or "Newest" tab so you only get to see the questions that you might be interested in. There are more ways to filter this.

There are users on here that answer question with an incredible high degree of knowledge and expertise that they deserve the upvotes/acceptance etc. Remember these are "just" points. There is no value in them other than the priceless "Thank you for a great job" Remember that I mentioned before "upvote lots, downvote seldom" is to say thank you for all those hours of research spend to help others. Also, remember how you felt when you achieved a certain milestone. Everybody deserves that feeling of accomplishment.

So what you consider annoying, I consider necessary and a mere inconvenience.

OH I get it (after 3rd time reading this over) Your giving them attention/points because they never got the attention/points they earned

I've been giving meta more attention than iFixit lately... I should get back. I just wish I could filter apple products from the list of questions.

@pccheese have you tried using the User Historic or Devices tabs within Answers? You won't be able to specifically filter Apple products, but the "User Historic tab will only show questions for devices you've answered in the past, and Devices will allow you to see questions for specific devices or categories.

@oldturkey03 - Very well put!

by

@evan I didn't know about the historic tab, but I did know of the devices. I just wish I could filter apple devices out because I never answer those.
