What is the adhesive remover provided in ifixit kits?

I recently tried to remove my macbook pro battery but ran out of the adhesive remover. Is this just Isopropyl alcohol? Would Isopropyl alcohol work?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Jonathan! It sounds like you're overusing the adhesive remover! I highly recommend you only use 1 ml per cell, you should have more than enough to do the job. Using excessive amounts of the solution can cause leakage and damage to various components.

That said, we sell replacement solution here, IPA is an okay substitute but not quite as strong as the iFixit adhesive remover. Be careful, go slowly, and pry gently—the adhesive remover won't make your battery jump out of the case, it still needs to be worked carefully.
