70 pages of moderation votes denied

Block Image

Ok. @evan So earlier today I spent a few hours working up 70 pages of moderation votes. only now to see they all got auto-denied because nobody got to respond fast enough. that really annoys me. anything that can be done about that?

If all my votes will be auto-denied like they were here and often before, I'm just gonna straight out quit moderating.

thanks.

@captainsnowball I can only imagine how much time you spend on going through questions from at least 8 years ago. You marked comments as Spam from 8 years ago that were a single links and the user never ever showed up again, nor were the links all Spam. 90% of the comments you marked got converted from answers to comments years ago . Remember, we are not here to censor answers or comments! Nobody else on here will go through 70+ pages (you are looking at least at 700 moderations) Do you think anybody here would go and vote on that many? You need 5 people to vote on this. Can you see 5 people spending as many hours as you did on moderating old stuff? How would you feel if your teacher gave you all your homework for every subject for the whole year at once? What you are doing is creating an immense task and it will become a huge backlog. Others will definitely avoid moderation because of that. Then what? Your marked moderations will never be looked at or voted on. So, all your time was spend on a task that frizzled away. Don't go and mark every single comment that was left at old questions as irrelevant, spam or offensive. Focus on the here and now and if you do run across an occasional one, go ahead and mark it but do not mark 700+ at once.

"If all my votes will be auto-denied like they were here and often before, I'm just gonna straight out quit moderating." Kids pack up their toys and leave when they have disagreements with others while playing in the sandbox. Adults and professionals discuss things and come to agreements but they do not threaten to walk away.

@captainsnowball the strategy I use on old questions is I tag the reasonably accessed spam and leave it at that. Digging for spam is redundant and a waste of time.

But do you see why that annoys me though? I try to clean up a "most helpful" post and all this time is for nothing. I'm not saying it all has to be done at once, it can be done over a span of a week or so. I've seen spam get by due to this auto-deny thing. https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/6563...

It's a lot of me too replies. Flag them in small groups over the course of a reasonable time.

I dealt with 12. Deal with them like that rather then all at once. Save time and flag the while post if the whole thing should be removed.

Or leave the "me too" alone for as long as they are in comments. There is no harm in those.

It's not worth flagging everything there. I know that much.
