HB 2279 never made it out of the WA House
Popup alert about 'pending legislation'
Jon,
Thank you for taking the time to contact Senator Becker’s office.
I believe the bill you are referring to is HB 2279. Unfortunately, this bill never made it out of the House during the 2018 session. It is possible that a similar bill will be introduced next year though, so don’t lose hope. Below is a link if you wish to know more about this bill:

Subject: Please support Right to Repair
Randi Becker,
I'm one of your constituents and I'm writing to ask you to support the Right to Repair Act in Washington.
Having the skill and knowledge to repair what I own, I've often done my own repairs in defiance of the scare-tactics of manufacturers who warn that repairs may void warranties - and I've never had a warranty nullified because I've done a repair improperly or caused damage by doing so.
We should have our right to repair protected by law. Damage done by a repair should void a warranty. At-home repairs themselves should not void warranties, as such.
Is this a good question?
