Why was my post deleted?
Yesterday I posted "Looking for parts source (LCD and digitizer) for Sprint Slate 8" and today I see that it was deleted. Why?
Is this a good question?

@secondlife that was my doing and I am sorry it got deleted. There was no harm intended but questions of that nature usually solicit plenty of Spam answers. I am certain that is not your intend. Pro Talk, as suggested by @sam , will be far more suitable for you than the Answers forum.

I've mainly noticed that on data recovery questions. I don't see it as often on part sourcing advice questions.

@nick reason for that is because they get moderated away. Remember that question like these are very highly subjective and anybody will give you a supplier they think is best. Then you have the suppliers strutting their stuff and it all turns into one big spam sandwich

I see now. It's probably also easier to moderate it out of existence then resorting to moderating a spam trap.

Hi Steve! It looks like a community moderator removed your post. We often get "seeded" questions that look like this and are purely an opportunity to promote someone's part business, so that may have been the suspicion. If you're looking to source parts for a business, our Pro Talk forum might be the best place to ask!
