Bought iFixit 64 bit Driver Kit from a 3rd Party Seller

As the title says I just recently bought a kit from a 3rd party seller namely Galleon.ph, since the price there is much cheaper because they have a person that goes to US and PH back and forth.

My question is this, if ever my bits get bent or something, can I still avail iFixit Lifetime warranty?

Cause this would suck so much if I can't avail it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @wolfden ,

The ifixit warranty states that the warranty only applies if parts and tools are sold from ifixit.com and authorized resellers.

Here's a link

https://www.ifixit.com/Info/Warranty

Contact ifixit (there is a contact link near the bottom of the page) and check if it applies in your case.

Hi @captainsnowball ,

Thanks.

It was working when I posted it on the answers forum, but since then the question has been migrated to here, (not by me).

Perhaps the link doesn't move across between meta ifixit and answer ifixit. IDK

I've edited my answer to make it work.

Hi @sam ,

If you check the history on my answer you'll see how I linked in the above 'warranty' page link in the Answers forum (it was in 'blue' type when in the answers forum.

When advised that it didn't work in Meta, (the link was 'in red' type. so obviously it didn't work.) I couldn't embed it here in Meta, into the sentence as before in the answers forum. The only way was to paste it as above.

Is this the only way between ifixit answers and meta ifixit or should it have traveled across from one to the other OK?

Cheers.

@jayeff when you post an iFixit link on the iFixit forum, we automatically convert the https://www.ifixit.com/wiki/article-titl... to a wiki tag:

\[\[Wiki:article-title]]

When the post gets migrated to meta the wiki tag isn't converted back to a standard link.

We should fix that. I'll make sure it's on our radar. Sorry for the mix up!

@evan I saw this at one point. maybe you could use it for shortening URLS instead of the current system? https://yourls.org/

Hi @evan ,

Thanks for the update.

On another note, just curious as to why this https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/4674... shows that it was voted down in my Activity area but didn't register a negative vote in the score area of the Answer.

Again not a problem for me if it was voted down but the fact that this isn't shown to anybody else or did the score just countdown to zero?

Cheers
