Apple Adds 2012 Retina MacBook Pro to Vintage List

Is this a worthwhile discussion?

This is ridiculous. The 2012 HSW rMBP is still a very capable piece of hardware despite it's upgrade shortcomings. This is insulting, but not surprising; I suspect they did it to sell USB-C dongles and the neutered USB-C only machines with soldered SSD's. The more of this crap Apple pulls, the more I'm glad I got out of the platform before it got to this extreme.
If you can get a 2012 i7 HQ/16GB/512GB/dual GPU model you still have a very capable laptop today. That's a little different on the i5/8GB/128-256GB/IGP models but the high end models still hold up against modern systems.
