Can someone fix the URL posting function, Its messed up again
The URL posting menu option is now not working (menu button greyed out) and you also can't post using the in-line method either!
So if I post like this: The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs it won't work in the Answers all I'll get is the blue URL within the brackets and the title won't show for the URL as I wanted it to. Here's an example on the problem: Compatible SSD's with MacBook air 2017 answer.
Note the URL's are working here!
UPDATE
Here's the META Answer menu which has an active link Icon
Clicking on the Link menu action you get this:
Arstechnica the techies web site
Here's the IFIXIT Answer menu which has a greyed out link Icon
There's no means to get to the link pop up like you can on META. If we could that would solve most of the link issues!!
Then we just have the in-line posting method as we have been using for the past few years: [URL|TEXT (optional)]
Is this a good question?

Interesting, it's working for me! I edited your post to add the link in there. Try using the toolbar and not the wiki syntax. If it's not working, let us know what browser and maybe post a video. We'll get right on it!

Hi Kyle! I’m doing the same here as in Answers. So I can’t see how the web browser would make a difference. I’m using High Sierra with Safari 11.1.2 as well as iOS 11.4.1 and Safari with it. Both started having problems since last night.

Hey Dan, we rolled out an update last night but I'm having a hard time understanding what the problem is that you are seeing. The link editor is working as it should be for me.
Can you post some instructions for reproducing the bug you are seeing?

@evan - All I'm doing is taking a URL pasting it into an answer like I've been doing:
Left bracket [ then paste of URL, paste bar |, text, closing right bracket ]
The URL menu choice is not there in MacOS. But! visible in iOS, and also visible here in Meta via MacOS. Pasting URL's here works as you can see above.

Okay the new editor works a little differently. It auto-detects links when they're pasted in and automatically creates the bracket syntax in the background.
If you want to include a link in your answer, you can do so by just pasting it in. If you want that link to have a caption, you can type text, select the text, then press the link button to insert a hyperlink. The button is only active when you have text selected.
