New Screen has backlight but no image

I purchased a new SE screen directly from iFixit, followed the instructions, and made sure to be careful not to damage anything. I can see no visible signs of damage.

The phone powers on and vibrates, and the backlight turns on, but there is no image.

When I put back the original screen, it does work correctly.

I tried doing a hard reset, and the image does not appear.

I tried the screen on a 5S, and it behaves the same way. Also, the screen FROM the 5S does work on the SE. Any ideas?

More than likely the part you’ve received is faulty. Despite their best efforts, it’s impossible to provide 100% quality assurance. I’d get with their support about an RMA or swap out, if possible.
