@blakeklein That may be state dependent. You have to mess with the ECU (usually decryption), which some states have laws against BUT it's usually only for registered vehicles and doesn't impact offroad use. Hopefully, this exception provides protection for offroad use if the ECU is decrypted and hacked to run unencrypted code to work on them that will inevitably be needed.
