Faulty dual hard drive kit SATA cable issue

Hi,

I put a new SSD in the lower bay, I see the new SSD but I get some error when I try to make partition and format, I put the SSD with Apple original cable and everything works fine, put the old 5400 RPM HDD with IFIXIT cable, get some errors while reading and copy files.

Are there any trick with this IFIXIT cable or just another bad faulty cable like some people have claimed?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Just make sure you didn't over bend the cable! You don't want sharp folds, you want nice smooth arcs. That will kill it!

There shouldn’t be any “tricks” with the cable from iFixit. I would contact iFixit customer support and request an exchange.
