Why I left ifixit.

Now, I got banned we all know that. I completely agree with the ban and say I deserved it. The reason I left is because during the ban, I found other things to do which left no time for ifixit. It’s been worrying me lately that you guys might’ve thought I left because I didn’t agree with the ban.

I don’t remember if I gave an apology or not yet, so I guess now is a great time to do so.

I am sorry for acting the way I did as it was inappropriate in that situation. I scared off a good user who mightve even become a regular. And I gave a bad impression for ifixit. I find it would be fair to remove at least 1000 reputation from my account for that.

also, I’ve been in touch with @ajcooke01 and he says he probably won’t be coming back to ifixit because he thinks you guys don’t trust him and that you might think he is deceptive and untrustworthy. He admits he did wrong, and I want to ask if you guys are still happy to have him come back at the end Of his ban.

We’ve probably all had that phase (or acted on it). You and him aren’t alone.

As long as you come back and never do it again for a few years, the distrust “resets” itself if you will. You just can’t do it again if you try for another chance to come back.

Sometimes you need a can of this to fix the problem:

@captainsnowball

as always, everyone is welcome at iFixit. Respect needs to be earned and anyone can do it for as long as one is upfront about it. I’d suggest the behavior as oulined on here What are some pointers for answering question & moderating posts? and time will get this straight. @captainsnowball you never really left, you just slowed down to pursue other interests:-)

We’ve all been 14 years old at one time. You make mistakes and learn from them, that’s to be expected.

It’s like, “why are those old guys so good at fixing things”? Because we’ve all done it the wrong way first!

The school of hard knocks doesn't care about your age. It'll open a can of whoop ass on a 14 year old if needed.

When you can't solve it any other way let them learn the hard way.

You apologised.

Move on and learn from it.
