Parts listing needs clarification

@kristen - The iPhone 8 Plus guides have two different guides to service the display:

Both list out the same replacement screen assembly and you offer it at different prices.

The iPhone 8 Plus Display Assembly Replacement offers a kit as well as the discreet part iPhone 8 Plus LCD Screen and Digitizer Full Assembly $84.99 / 79.99

The iPhone 8 Plus LCD Screen and Digitizer Replacement offers: iPhone 8 Plus LCD Screen and Digitizer $129.99 as well as iPhone 8 Plus LCD Screen and Digitizer - Choice $189.99

In reviewing the descriptions there is nothing that sets them apart or explain if this is an OEM, refurbished or 3rd party part. Basically why would I buy the given part and its quality??

This question came from: IFIXIT display options for iPhone 8 Plus

Hi Dan,

Thanks for pointing this out. We’re actually in the process of updating product pages and descriptions to provide more clarification. I don’t have a time estimate, but it’s on the horizon!

@kristien - Can we give this poor guy a hint on which one to buy :-}

@danj It's explained in the introduction to each guide. ;) Those are actually very different parts. The "display assembly" is the one we recommend for most users, as it includes the front camera, earpiece speaker, LCD shield plate, etc. all preinstalled. So it makes for an easier repair. The second part you listed is just a bare screen, so you have to carefully transfer over those smaller parts from the old screen to the new screen. The product names and pricing options are definitely a bit screwy right now, and as Kristen mentioned we're actively working on fixing this up. Hope this helps!

@kristen & @jeffsu - Not beating anyone up here ;-}

Here’s another concern: What comes with the iMac Intel 27" (Mid 2011) Dual Hard Drive Kit I did try to console his concerns as you can see. The lack of clarity on the what the kit includes killed a sale.
