What are the iFixit replacement feet made of?

https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Mac/MacBook...

The (presumed original) feet on my Mac are nearly all broken - only one intact one remains but I don't think it will last much longer. The other 3 are all near the end of their life and are close to falling off or have fallen off (and temporarily placed with tape. The only thing supporting them at this point is the double sided tape and probably pressure. My factory plugs are unrecoverable since 2 are broken and the one that isn't didn't stay with the case and is stuck to the actual foot, so I can’t salvage it.

The issue with many 3rd party replacements on the market is they are made of a hard plastic or end up failing the same way within a short amount of time. The hard plastic ones are the most common and wear the worst. Are the iFixit feet rubber or plastic?

Most are plastic with a coating of silicone rubber applied to give it a nonslip surface.

The older rubber only designs tended to fail as well. The adhesive interface to the case would breakdown.

It didn't surprise me the original set failed. I planned on having to do it at some point either way - I expected them to fail at some point (if you've felt bad feet, you know right away) - I did plan to buy a new set even if I had to rush the time I did it. I'm actually down to 2/3 now where I had to temporarily use tape to keep it around for now.

I can probably break the intact foot off cleanly - I just need to wait for my new ones and focus on breaking the plug that's internal.
