Don't hate me but the SSD's also need to be updated

This applies to all of the MX500’s as well. None of them list SATA II/I compatibility.

Even the iMac upgrade kits probably should be looked at

This is in the backlog and the SSD's will be updated in the near future.

Glad to know this will be addressed. You need to find a new autosense SSD for these SATA I/II Mac owners who want to keep the old systems :-(.

I love the catch line Don't hate me but …

Samsung SSD’s are still supporting SATA I, II I/O interfaces. I haven’t found any other.

Crucial has never publicly stated if they support the slower I/O speeds with the MX500 SSD’s. I tried getting sometime in writing from them years ago. All they would do is tell me it will work but nothing on paper. Here’s the history of the Crucial SSD’s More Than a Decade of Crucial SSD Evolution

My M500 was probably the last of the public support breed from Crucial :-(. It's only a 240GB, so it isn't even a good one. Do you think iFixit would be able to sell the Samsung drives? If not, we need a reliable option with it from another vendor.

Usually, when it isn't disclosed, the support is rudimentary at best. We need better than that for these old systems since they're on borrowed time. The more common this gets the more I don't regret getting a protected system with support... But it's also going to force my hand on the hard drive cable any day at this point to the point I can't coast much longer.
