Forums are very noisy

I know it helps with SEO, but who cares if people fixed their device for a day, or 90% or thought they fixed it. I expect 100% new devices to be 100% working. I expect forums with the words solved or foxed to be 100% solved or fixed! Otherwise, I have to block your forum site from dirtying my web searches. It’s just noise!

You're dealing with end users. You can't do much about the problem.

Hi,

You have high expectations. You’re dealing with humans and all that it entails

If an answer or answers help a person to solve their particular problem but maybe not somebody else who is experiencing the same problem then at least one person has been helped and that may mean that at least one less item has been discarded to landfill as recycling doesn’t seem to be coping too well.

In electronics especially it doesn’t have to be the exact same problem that can cause the same symptoms. A lot of the time it may be but it is unwise to assume it to be so in every case.

It is not always just about new devices. It can be about anything that someone is having problems with and who seeks help to fix it.

I agree about new devices, they should be working 100% and if not that’s what warranties are for. Push the legislators to make the manufacturers provide a better warranty on their products in the hope that this will improve the quality. You have to ask yourself how a manufacturer can give a 3 month limited warranty in one country and a 12 month full warranty in another country on the exact same device. No wonder they sometimes push out rubbish. Build it cheaper and no responsibility after 3 months. They’re treating their customers with disdain

Perhaps you should be more tolerant and if that is a bit difficult, do as you will. It may be you that loses out in the end.

This intermittent screen defect seems like it’s programmed in. That’s all. Every single case is different. No one responds to other. They just add their unique case. Look, if every case is unique then something along the way was deliberately done to cause random problems.

Hi,

What are you talking about?

Intermittent screen defect, where did that come from?

Read the Discussion Topic that you posted above!!

There's no mention about it.

We are not clairvoyant.

You may know what you're talking about but unless you explain better what the problem is, no one else does.

Even the "answer" that you posted in the ifixit forum back in August doesn't say what your particular problem is, you are just making a complaint.

https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/4156....

If you want help you need to give details about the problem not just complain that you cannot find the answer to your particular problem.

The "damned experts" that you want are to be found in professional repair services and are getting paid for their expertise, experience and skill which maybe you're not prepared to pay for, to get your device fixed.

The volunteers who answer on ifixit are just trying to help and are not getting paid , so again be tolerant.
