Tool prices on gamebit drivers.

I’ve been a fan of ifixit for a long time. got my first kit nearly 10 years ago at radio shack for around $65. I was looking into expanding my kit to finally have the nintendo gamebit drivers. I was shocked to see you charging $25 each for these drivers. these are tools that can very easily be had from ebay and amazon for under $5 for the pair. Very disappointed to see such a huge markup from you guys. The higher cost of your tool kits is fully justified by the overall quality of all of the included components, not just the drivers. But there is no way to justify charging almost 10x the average cost for 2 screwdrivers. I can only liken this Apple and their $20,000 Mac pro that only does half the work of a $3,000 PC. An outrageous markup for nothing more than a logo. Very disappointed.

Answer this question I have this problem too

You do realize that they are WAY higher quality than the cheap ones (made of metal) and they have to pay for this very forum, right? Those ebay ones (Trust me, I’ve bought many of them) will break in about 2-6 months (depending on how often you use them) and are way way less nice to use than ifixit’s.

i have used plenty of different types of drivers, something like a gamebit driver should never have enough torque applied to it to damage a steel driver head as the screws always go into plastic. i have used several differently branded gamebit drivers before and opened many systems and games, i have just never owed my own personal drivers. $25 for a single screwdriver is just absurd, even Snap-On doesn't charge that much

@Nathan Monahan Yeah, usually the price is to motivate people to buy the kits

instead of just one driver. 25$ is a lot, but idk ?‍♂️
