1st post deleted, mult. times. Hefty neg. delta. Now what? (NotInFAQ)

I tried to add a comment to a post, to provide catalog details for items mentioned.

I was told I had to create an account which I did. Seeing that I was subsequently logged in, I posted again. Not seeing a result, I figured it might have been a timing issue, so I submitted a 3rd time.

Checking my profile to see if it might be problem being a new user, I learned I have 3 comments which were deleted instantly “due to flags”, and have a “Delta” of -300.

:^(

Had there been a notification of the offense, I might have not tried twice more.

Anyway, seems a harsh welcome to a new user.

My question: What now/what’s next?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

This usually happens when there's limited information on the post but also a link - it looks suspicious to the spam filter. What I've done to avoid tripping it is to put as much as I reasonably can before the link, and then add the link. Works every time.

Hi @ifixwithhammer,

I’m the one that goes through the inbox where people are directed to and I’ve restored all of your comments, deleted the duplicates, and marked your contributions as not spam so that the filter can learn from it’s mistake and (hopefully) not do that again. The robot is only so smart.

If you have issues with the filter, you can always post on meta or email us at moderation@ifixit.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we’re able.

Sorry for the confusion!
