Look at what this Italian has done to reuse an iMac as an autonomous display. Why don’t you commercialise such a solution? This “is” green, and not the 100% reused aluminium BS.

This is a super clever transformation! There are, indeed, many ways we can all support reducing electronic waste by repairing and reusing things that can’t be repaired. In our case, while we absolute LOVE to see the creativity of people repurposing their tech, our particular lane in the movement is to assist with helping repairers figure out how to repair their devices. We work as hard as we can in that specific area and leave other types of modifications and transformations to other sites/groups that specialize in those projects.
That said, this is really awesome and I’m glad you shared it here!

jangoloti that is an awesome way to keep hardware going and keeping it out of the landfill. Check the Answer section carefully and you will notice that a few of the people on there have already made guides etc. on how to accomplish this. The difficulty to make it a e come a commercial product lies in the multitude of the display panels that Apple is using and not all can be modified for this. The solution is always panel dependent.
