Where did a question go?

Hi @amber, @krisrodriguez ,

Today I moderated a comment/answer (click on show deleted) to a new question in Answers and edited it so that it would be understood by more people.

I also replied to the new question with a comment and it isn't showing in my Subscribed list of questions (I'm shown as subscribed in the question - options) and also it has no appearance in the main Answers questions list.

It seems to have disappeared. I can still access it if I click on the wrote comment or edited entry for the "new question" in my Activity list though

Update (03/02/2023)

Hi @amber,

Here's another moderated an answer to a new question that has disappeared.

It's not in my subscribed list as I didn't respond to it with a comment or an answer so that's fine but I can't find it in the Answers list though.

You can get to it from the OP's > About > Questions list however.

It was moderated from being an answer in this question so the OP's avatar does appear in Answers for this question (see Show Deleted) at the time it was moderated but that's all.

Cheers

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

This is interesting. I'll send this over to our developers—I'm pretty certain this is a bug. They'll likely not see it until Monday though. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Great news! We no longer filter /Answers and /Answers/Subscribed by language. The list shown on /Answers/Subscribed will now include all of your subscribed questions, not just the ones in the currently selected language, so that you don't have to swap between languages to see different subscribed questions. I'm not 100% sure if this also applies to previous ones or only works for the ones you subscribe to as of now, but it's a great step forward in any case :-)

Hi @sandrahiller,

Would this explain why there has recently been an increase in the number of questions posted in Arabic on the English language Answers forum?

Here are some examples from the last 3 days

#1 #2 #3 #4

The English translation edits were mostly done by the moderators.

Cheers

That's probably related to another issue we've been working on last week: Until now, posts in unsupported languages were effectively lost, and we were trying to find a way to turn them into something worthwhile for both the user and our platform - not sure if the current solution is the best one yet.

To add on to what @sandrahiller said, the Google translate that the mods are adding are great. I think it shows the rest of the community an easy way to communicate their repair knowledge across language barriers.

We'll keep working on this solution from our end. =]

@amber

Perhaps you could add a "translate this question" option, like Google presents in their search results when a result is in another language.

Just a thought.

Great idea—we're workshopping all ideas so we can find a solution that works. Thanks for sharing, @jayeff!

Hi @jayeff,
I saw your update. I've sent it to the developers to figure out why it's invisible.
