Why can't I edit step titles in editing mode?

I'm editing pages for grammar police and confusing text flags. I can edit the introduction and steps, but there is no option for editing the title of the steps--no field opens up for the title.

The "help" button provides this information for editing titles:

"The 'Add a Title' field allows you to give each step a unique title...When editing a step, this field is directly above the images, Click in the 'Add a Title' field and type in the step title,

On the pages that I am editing, the titles appear fixed. there is no "field" in edit mode to allow for editing. How do I access the "add a title" field?

Thanks!

Hi @thetechmaven, thanks for the great question! We see that you're a student and are working on the Editing Project. A concise, clearly-written step usually does not require a step titleā€”the titles quickly become redundant, making the document longer and therefore more of an effort to read. Step titles are best used to mark the beginning of a series of related steps. For instance, if you add a prerequisite guide, a step title is automatically added to denote the first step in the prerequisite sequence. For this project, you don't need to worry about step titles.
