I take it that you're referring to meta, not Answers, because you're still earning lots of reputation there.
You haven't earned reputation from upvotes on meta because "discussion topics" don't give reputation for upticks. We did that to encourage people to vote up/down based on their opinion. It seemed rude to have downvotes on discussions count against the author. For example, if I suggested 'Red Cross' to a recent poll, and you downvote because you dislike them for some reason, it shouldn't penalize me.
Discussion topics are a way to opt out of the reputation system for a bit so we can chat more informally. Answers in discussion topics also sorted chronologically rather than by vote count.

Pollytintop I note you have five ace of answers. If you were close to an ace you only get credit to the points needed to reach it. That could explain the 22 instead of 30.

i had an answer accepted and only received 22 points... but the next day another accepted answer got 30... I'm feeling a lack of love going on here.. or the maths dude is having a bad day?
