What to do with parts for iMac 20" EMC: 2118

My iMac screen is scratched and I purchased a new computer. To help reduce waste and promote the self-repair manifesto, I disassembled it completely and have all the parts ready for others to use. My question is what is the best way to find homes for these new parts?

In my mind the best answer would be to post them on iFixit somewhere so other users could get used parts if needed. I know I could put them on ebay, but is there any way I can offer them to this audience?

Great question! Maybe update your post with the parts available and see if anyone is interested. We've talked in the past about setting up a parts clearinghouse for folks to swap components, but we haven't built anything for it yet. Meta is probably the best place for now.

I said I purchased a new computer for brevity. Actually, I got a leftover computer form work with a great screen. After installing Ubuntu on it I didn't used the iMac any more so I decided to part it out.

You bought a whole new computer because your screen was scratched.

Well you sure do have a lot to learn about self-repair!

You can always sell your computer to iFixit, or even replace the display and then use or sell or recycle it.

I also have a perfect condition iMac 20 inch screen for sale or trade it was from the first i-sight model ppc. Apple replaced the screen 3 days before the logic board blew up and then told me it would cost €900 to replace the logic board, considering the computer costs €1100 didn't really make sense.
