I need some tubes tested for my project.

I've tried to buy a tube tester to check the tubes in my project. but sellers want way too much money. I have also been unsuccessful at finding a tester locally so now I'm looking for someone who can test the tubes for me.The only other alternative is to assume they are all bad and replace all of them.

rj, i read quite a few articles on the tube tester, and it seems that unless times have progressed the originals were inaccurate and didn't do the job needed. I found a comparison of loads of tube testers, tests done/accuracy..very interesting reading. I'd put a post on one of those vintage radio sites and see what they recommend...I believe there are lots of members in the US

When I read "tubes tested", I was thinking internet requests... too much time talking about memes.

The only thing I come up with for my own project, is to check continuity with my multimeter. The actual tube can only be tested with a tube tester, and like you said, they are expensive. So best bet, depending on the tube, check for continuity, if they don't the tube needs to be replaced anyway. After that its just a matter how expensive the tube is, you may just have to change it for a new one. Good Luck.

At $72 before shipping I think it would be less expensive just to buy new tubes but thanks for looking.
