i'm pretty nervous right now.
it's 04:50 and at 06:00 the guys from the tv station will make a little "home story" about me and the things i do with all kind of technical stuff (as part of a live show in 3 weeks)
arrgh - tempus fugit - i'm extremely nervous
i think i should prepare a few things for them.....maybe i'll find some crappy stuff......

ok, that was almost easy ;-) disassembled a few things, answered a few questions and after less than 3 hours we were done. it will be on air in around 2 weeks. i will post the link to the video as soon as it is online.

promised ;-) since the topic was ifixit and apple i hat to disassemble 2 macbooks and an iphone 3g - using the tools i got for making the teardown (btw - they are great!) and wearing one of my ifixit shirts - lol - i guess the best part might be the take we did outside, me, standing next to a large manifesto poster with an almost braindead stare (wearing the shirt, shorts and chucks - we've had around 4°C (39°F)).....LOL
That's mighty cold, but it sounds like fun! We're looking forward to seeing the video!
news from the tv front:
i will do the arte tv thing and talk a little bit about the stuff we're doing here - most likely it will show very similar things like the one on on3.
but there is a earlier date too - today i got a call to do something for the "Bayerischer Rundfunk" (again :-))
next monday they want to do something for a different show - and not to forget that another radio station wanted an interview.
it's still very strange......

Of course he/she should not speak for your company, I would ask personal questions, motivation etc.
Somebody from the UK or Germany would be great but as log as he/she speaks English it is all good. It would be of course also important that he/she shares your environmental issues. " - so, maybe anyone from the UK is interested, anyone, anyone - JEN? JEEEEENNN???? ;-)
how flattering!!! I like the idea but I'm no expert at anything..I'm a tinkerer, just look at my recent failure with an iBook (and dropping my iphone in a toilet today!)as evidence of that! If you want to forward my details I'll see what I can offer,yes I believe in the iFixit philosophy and like helping others with what I have learned but I'm not like you who has background in this sort of thing..I'm a nurse!

it was very funny - almost 4 hours for ~5 minutes airtime.
the airdate is sept. 27 - the users from central europe can watch it on br alpha - the show is called on3 - südwild.
the 5 minute clip is only some kind of home story and the rest of the show will be live on air.
i don't know if non german surfers can see the video content on http://on3.de - the show will be online on sept. 28 as a stream (and download)

it's some kind of funny (and weird) - many teens and twens are trying to get their faces on the screen (mostly with some kind of "music") - they have not the slightest interest in technical stuff at all,
and now - some old bag like me is going to tell them - in their preferred "world" (aka TV) - that the should care more about their technical stuff, repair it and in a simple way - save the environment (and their money).
i think that the live show will be funny too, the guys from the Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting) (on3 is the youth program of the BR) are great - i had no "stage fright" at all, we laughed a lot and that way it was very easy to do the job ;-)
so getting back to the "movie star" thing - h3ll no - i have no time for that stuff.
i have way much to do without the TV thing ;-)
