How is a guide published?
So I created a repair guide, but it stays as unpublished- how does it get published?

2015 Update
We've updated the guide publishing method so you no longer have to remove a flag. Now there are Public / Private buttons on the right side of the page when you hit "Edit" on a guide:

If you click the edit link near the top of the guide, you should be presented with the introduction. Near the bottom of that page there is a list of "flags". One of those flags is labeled "Unpublished". To the right of it there is a remove link. Click that and then click save below it, and your guide will be published!

Don't see that at all
I mean seriously- it's just not there.
Rab, we still had you listed as a special 'student' status so you could beta test things months back. Students don't have the ability to publish guides. I've removed that status on you, and if you log out and back in you should be able to publish guides.

On the introduction of the guide, there's an 'Unpublished' flag. Delete that and it'll go live!

I'm posting this as an answer just so it updates and people see it, this addresses the other main problem- no notifications! so my problem of being unable to publish a guide has persisted...

Ya, email notifications are in the works for meta. Expect it by the end of the month at the latest.
Could you put a link to the guide you are trying to publish? Maybe it is already public.
Also if you see my answer, I added a screen shot

Same problem. Removed the "In Process" flag but there is no "Unpublished" flag to remove

Hey Bruno, it's no longer a flag in the guide. I added a 2015 Update answer below that shows the correct procedure. Now it's just a Publish button on the right side of the Introduction page.

Thanks. Later I remarked, that the post was from 2010. As there was no answer after a day I asked a new question and got the same answer. How do I publish a finished guide?
