Kodak lens replacement guide for your review

Here is a guide that will show how to remove the lens http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing-Ko... . Obviously I have to many cameras that require repair, plenty of them with broken lenses and broken LCD's. Thanks.

Why not try to clean the old lens? All else fails, parts one with a good lens to replace the lens

The intricacy of the barrel assembly does require a lot of patients as well as good eyesight (which I am starting to lack :) and/or the availability to get spare parts. That is the greatest challenge for that type of repair.

Which is one reason I like micro 4/3 cameras(particularly the Sony NEX series) and DSLR cameras better, if the lens fails, I can replace it without a whole new camera

by

you can replace the lens on most cameras, without having to replace the camera. :)

by

True, but on P&S cameras, it requires full disassembly of the camera, and you can get zapped by the flash capacitor, the micro 4/3 cameras do not pose this risk, and the lens can be changed retaining the warranty, I would fix a P&S, but personally, I prefer the Sony NEX cameras for portable cameras, because I KNOW how to use the manual controls on it, so I also use a DSLR, and you are not stuck with the lens they choose on a Sony NEX camera
