Must've been almost an english summer then? we've nothing but rain here... those guides are looking good, steps seem easy enough and good explanations. Maybe see if step 2 the last sentence is missing a word? might be our languages?

Thank you my friend, good to hear form you. We got a bit of rain so far this summer, but temps are constantly around the 100 F mark, it makes for pretty sticky weather, but at least no drought :-)

I was surprised by the ease of working on these cameras. Got a few DSLR's and I bet that will be a different story :-)

Oh yeah, they are a PITA to work on in some cases, but it depends on how high end they are, entry level tends to be a little more difficult, high end can be really easy to work on

finally got broadband connected so should be back on here a bit to annoy you all. Plus our British summer...isn't! Just non stop rain, so I'm digging out phones and cameras and nintendo consoles to fix. Those DSLR's can be costly to fix,but have a good resell value...good luck!

If he chooses to fix them himself, It's a PITA; if it's just the screen, easy to fix and is worth ot; if it's something like the logicboard, sensor or shutter, or even the shutter box, choose wisely to fix or not fix, as I discussed in the last camera post, this is the beauty of micro 4/3, if the body goes like it did in this case, I can just get a body and reuse my lenses, and sometimes it gives you an excuse to upgrade, the only issue is disposal of the old body if you opt to replace

@pollytintop, it is great to have you back. Missed your expertise and wittiness on here.

@nick, yes sir. you are right, some are a royal PITA. The way I do it, I get me some service manuals first and study those, to see what issues can come up. After that I price things like PCB's, LCD's etc. to make sure that I do not overspend. It works most of the time.
