Why do none of the iFixit screwdriver bits fit the iPhone's screws?

I ordered a replacement front cover for my son's iPhone 3GS, and I appreciate the whiffy toolkit that came with it, but none of the phillips head bit was fine enough to drive the iPhone's screws. Fortunately I had a good tiny screwdriver (in my Leatherman, no less!) and I was able to complete the repair.

Just an FYI...

Due to manufacturing differences, we have heard that occasionally the Phillips #00 bit doesn't work well with the external screws on the iPhone 3G and 3GS. Our next batch of toolkits (currently in manufacturing) does include a #000 Phillips bit, which is smaller and should completely eliminate this issue. We should have the next batch of toolkits in our hands in about 6 weeks.

I'll be waiting to receive my bit to complete the set I've already purchased.
