magnetic mat has a cover layer, do I remove it?

A couple of weeks ago I bought the magnetic project mat and it seems to have this thin plastic layer. I am unsure if I have to remove it or leave it on, so can someone tell me if I do/don't?

Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

That's a permanent protective cover. I would leave that as it allows you to write (and erase) on the mat with the provided pen.

We've seen a few arrive at customer's homes with a bubble in them. Contact support [at] ifixit [dot] com so that we can get that fixed for you.

I started to try to remove it, and immediatly stopped when I saw it is permanently glued!

Ifixit guys, you should make your mat looks better because cellophan really looks like a removable protective layer since it have really thin borders all around to grab it with nails!(-.-)

(And those borders can grab dust! Maybe you should add a frame!!)

Now i have to fix a corner with kind of glue! (>_<)

I need to fix the ifixit tool ... σ(^_^;)
