Does this kit solve the issue of fan running at full speed

Does the iMac dual hard drive kit solve the issue of the fan running at full speed?

I've read elsewhere that if you add a non-Apple drive the fan will run at full speed

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Please give us the last three figures of the serial number of the machine you're working on.

When I posted the message I mentioned it was for the dual hard drive kit for the iMac. Don't know why it doesn't show this info. I have read elsewhere that adding a drive to a 2011 iMac will cause the fans to run at full speed. I was looking for confirmation that iFixit's kit addresses this issue.

Depends upon the Mac you're talking about... but a 3rd party fan control can lower the fan speed (though the reliability is questioned). Here is an Answer that may offer other solutions.

Furthermore, I've noticed by using my Macbook and an MSI Barebone PC at home that several "common used" applications, especially web based (Facebook, YouTube, Flash Games...) seem to stress really badly the CPU. Basically, I can tell if someone in office is lazying on Facebook by keeping quiet and listening to the noisiest PC or mac.

Thus, before blaming the Optibay, I'd try installing some control application, as SMCFanControl, and check if the fan acts up while using Flash.
