Why is this site so loaded with simple spelling errors?????
Wow, that's a bad typo! We definitely need to fix that. We try really hard to proof everything we write (a daunting task, given the sheer volume of text on the site), but we definitely do make mistakes.
Having that said, "loaded with spelling errors" is quite a sweeping statement for one supporting example. Can you help us fix the typos you've seen by documenting the others that you've seen here?
Thanks for catching that!
Fixed. I am personally embarrassed for that error, and I apologize. I spend a lot of time proofreading the site; the only meager explanation I can offer is that we are trying to accomplish a lot with a very small team.
Please help us get better! We need all of your help to make our mission possible. Our Contribute section has lists of pages that we have marked as needing grammatical assistance from the community— you can edit and fix errors in all of our content (except the site framework, which involves making a code change).
Carol, I pledge to fix any and all spelling errors you give me— even at 11:00 on a Saturday night. Bring them on!
That´s a good reason why this site is for the most part a wiki, if you see a page (that you can edit of course) that has an error, fix it! That´s what I do as I come across them, when it´s something you can´t edit though, that´s why we have Meta. This really shows the importance of what Kyle was talking about earlier about how this entire site is a wiki.
On the "Installing iPhone 3GS Display Assembly" page (http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Insta...), there is a typo in the "Step 2" section:
"If the display assembly is to damaged to allow..."
Should be:
"If the display assembly is too damaged to allow..."
