Is this guy spamming or am I just crazy?

I feel like this was a pointless question to ask if he just answered himself as if he were troubleshooting someone with a disassociative identity disorder?...thoughts?

Hey Gary,

Neither you, nor the student, nor Miro are crazy. Having students seed Answers is a new addition to our program this term. We find that most users search forums, such as Answers, with questions. By having students seed questions, more users are led to the proper information, or so we hope. We're testing this out this term and will be evaluating it over the summer. Our goal is to help as many people find solutions as possible, and we hope that this route will be effective. Thanks for your eagle-eyes!

Hey Gary,

Good news: he’s not crazy, and you’re not either.

We have student groups creating repair manuals as part of a technical writing class. Looks like one of the students may be a bit misguided, and he started populating Answers with question/answer combos. To be honest, I’m not sure why he’s doing that, as that’s not part of the assignment (as far as I know).

I’ll forward this to the appropriate folks and they’ll take care of it — thanks for the heads-up!

What should be avoided IMHO, is to have students create troubleshooting guides for complex devices. It doesn't do any good to tell inexperienced users who refuse to RTFM to crack open their device and replace X because they've got some setting wrong.
