My dog is c#ck blocking me

I'm now dating after not doing so for ten years. My girlfriend gets along great with my pup, BUT. When she moves over to be next to me my dog (a Eunuch) seems to go nuts and wants right in the middle, with a lot of face licking on both of us. That's fine for a lot of laughs but it is getting in the way of a more physical relationship. I really love my dog and so does my girl friend but enough is enough. How do I keep my dog off of us and not make it feel unloved? P.S. I do not let my dog sleep in my bed. Please answer quickly as this question is not really repair related and may, no will, get canned.I know this sounds like a flippant question but it's a real problem and I ask it here because this is where I live and have compatriots who know me.

There's a joke in there somewhere about your dog getting fixed, and maybe another one about fixing your dog's behavior. In all reality I think Dan has a good answer.

I've re-read my question a couple of times and the answer is actually there. "My dog is not allowed on my bed." So far I've just been cuddling on the couch. I just wasn't ready to make that "move" ;-)

I couldn't see locking my dog up for being loving. So I just told him to lie down and after a couple of times he does. What a great dog.

Mayer I had the same problem a few years ago.

I ended up getting a dog trainer (whisperer) to help me. After a few sessions on training me ;-} on how to handle things we achieved some control.

Both my dogs now go to their kennels when told to. It was a bit of work and you do need to constantly review with your pup what you want rewarding them so its seen as a positive Vs negative action otherwise they won't do it when you direct them.
