What are the long term plans? Oh, did not work! They're back

Of course without going into to much detail, just wondering if you are working on some plans regarding our Arabic language spammer? Just wondering...:-)

I've trained our spam system on those posts and more, as reported by Mayer. Hopefully we'll be picking up on spam that looks like those posts soon. It's worth mentioning that the new spam system from last week has already caught quite a number of spammers.

I was actually just writing a post here on Meta to announce this when I saw your question. Last night we finished launching our new spam prevention system that we've been hard at work on.

Without saying too much about it publicly, in development, we ran a test run of this system using some historical data, and in our trials, it worked great. Overnight last night, we successfully blocked our first spam post. If the system keeps working great, then in the future we can do some more work to use it in other parts of the site. On the contrary, if we find that it's making bad decisions regularly, we can turn it off and stop using it, but we're really hoping that this is an end to our spam problems on Answers.

We'll be keeping a close eye on it, but in the coming days and weeks, please keep us updated with what you see and find about the quality of our automated spam decisions, or if you have complaints about how it's behaving. We're eager to make Answers a spam-free place to help people fix their things.

I definitely noticed a big improvement toady. No spam (hope it stays that way)....great job!

Taylor - There back! ;-{ Today alone we had over 15 different users spamming most today are 5 or so posts and one posting over 30 postings. I've done my best here to flag them take a look at my posts here in Meta if any of these ideas help.

Thanks for helping us this weekend fighting off the spammers and training our new spam system on their content. We're expecting the training to kick in soon, but we're also looking into other ways of identifying and removing spam.
