How can we get people to stop putting phones in rice?

Is seems like one of the core missions of iFixit is to reduce eWaste. One stream of eWaste is unrepairable phones due to water damage that is not able to be repaired.

However, nearly all water damage phones ARE able to be repaired---if the end user knows to open up the phone and get that sucker into some alcohol, toot sweet!

The biggest impediment to this easy solution is the rampant myth of putting the phone in rice.

I don't know how to convince people to stop spreading the rice myth, but a good start may be to create a respository of images taken from phones that have been subject to the corrosive nothingness of rice.

How can we do this?

jessabethany, have you considered creating a Wiki and then referring all those questions, answers and comments to that Wiki? May be even create it so it links to google under water damaged etc?

Thanks :) Is there some infrastructure here to start a WiKi about a subject that I don't know about, or do you mean in general?
