Here is something I've been wondering about for a while. If there is an expectation that iFixit offers a reseller discount, are the commercial repairers on here offering a discount to iFixit members? For example, does "iPad Rehab" or "MacHale Enterprises" offer a discount to members of iFixit?
I'd be happy to give the same prices I charged 20 years ago to anyone sending me a Mac for repair from iFixit.

I think there is a good idea here. In practice, when someone finds me that is a member of a group that I frequent, I have offered to give them a free "front of the line pass" which is a real $20 service that I offer folks that can't stand to be without their phone for a few days.
I'm not sure I could sustain that for all of iFixit, but I sure could for anyone who has ever bothered to post in iFixit Meta :)
In general, I'm a fan of professional courtesy as well. I sent some components to another micro solderer in Mississippi this week, he sent me a connector and passed along a tough repair from yet another board repair guy in Texas this week. When I fixed that one, I discounted a level 3 repair to level 2---that kind of thing. Happens all of the time in an informal way.

Interesting idea! I'm usually more concerned with the quality of repairs than the price, but I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate that.

Pricing on repairs is tricky. Let's say that I charge $100 per hour to replace a logic board but then next guy quotes $60 per hour. Who gives a better value? I can do the job (due to experience) in an hour and the other guy takes 2 hours. I wrote the guide but he's following it. I have 35 years of experience and he has two. Who do you working on your baby?

Absolutely does quality of a repair outweigh price (within reason of course)Quality repair, fair pricing and discount for members of a specialty group can create customer loyalty. It might also entice people to become a member of a group that receives discount.
